Flooring

It was pouring rain here earlier so I wasn't sure if the work was going to be put on hold but I went by the house and was not dissapointed. They've finished the main floor, putting in all the floor joists and tip out for the fireplace. It's starting to look a little bigger now that there is some spacial reference with the spacing and dimension of the floor joists. Tomorrow there's gonna be some awesome progress so don't miss out!

I always thought we just had a view of more houses in our back yard but in this picture you can see there's still some farm land across the way in this view. Not too shabby!

You can see the fireplace pop-out here which makes it so that the fireplace will only encroach on our living room space by a few inches. We still can't believe this is going to be our house with fireplace 'n all! I found out today that they use a moisture barrier on top of the foundation, then a pressure treated 2x6 and then the floor joists on top of that.

The sun started peaking through the clouds as I was leaving which lit up the lumber pretty nice. You can see a little pile of rocks in the left side of the picture - this is where our back patio and sliding-glass door line up.
