Garage Trusses & Interior w/ Ceiling

We went by the house before lunch today and took some pictures and had to make some decisions on archways and an open staircase. We decided to go with only one arch going from the dining room into the living room. Leaving the other direction into the kitchen open all the way to the ceiling since there's no header in place. We also decided to keep the staircase enclosed on the living room wall.

This is where we'll have an archway - looking from the dining room into the living room. We got in a little bit of trouble because we're not supposed to be on the job site while they're working on it (something about liability......). You can see the foreman talking to his framers telling them to kick us out. It looks like we'll have plenty of lighting in the living room during the day!

This is looking through the kitchen into the dining room. You can see there's no header on the wall separating the kitchen and dining room. We had the option to make an archway here but decided it would be better left open.

These are the kitchen, slider and family room windows.

This is the hallway going from the living room into the family room. The ladder is sitting where the stairs will start going up - there will be a landing halfway and then more stairs. We had the option to cut the closest wall in the picture at an angle parallel with the steps but we chose not to. This will give us a full wall to put furniture against or hang pictures on instead of a more awkward half-wall. They might have the main trusses done today - check back soon!
